Naperville Crime Comparison

Benchmark City Survey
The Benchmark City Survey was originally designed in 1997 by a group of police chiefs from around the country. These chiefs sought to establish a measurement tool to help ensure their departments were providing the best service possible within their respective communities.
The Naperville Police Department is one of about 30 law enforcement agencies from across the United States that annually participates in the Benchmark City Survey. The participating departments all serve communities of comparable size and demographics that share similar residential, business and industrial profiles.
The survey provides a wide range of information about each department. With that information, the Naperville Police Department compares our performance in various service areas with the other participating agencies. This helps us to ensure that we are providing the best possible service to our community and allows us to set better goals and objectives.
